exchange indoor & outdoor

one of my friends and i exchanged a plant
i gave her physostegia virginiana which is going to
bloom soon and hopefully she will enjoy it's pink
beauty.  inexchage, she gave me a stem of
ficus umbellata which has been soaked in
water for a while.  she is much into growing indoor plants
and i am crazy about outdoor ones but this exchange
gave me a chance to look into more indoor plants.

a cup of hot coffee and crunchy snack
for afternoon tea time
for my drawstring giveaway, i did enjoy
reading everyone of messages.  thank you.
this one is going to eau-de-nil

good morning wednesday ✾

my secound try of DIY wire basket has
became a charm point.
yesterday, i had "not so good looking"
lunch.  that made me want to creat prettier one for today.
there is no meat in it again, not intentionally though,
sometimes, i go on vegeterian mood ~
i will have this with bowl of rice at work (inside of the
building) but the result of my pretty color lunch made
me want to escape to the mountain for picnic lunch
during the break.
let's see ♪ ♫ i might.
one thing i definitely inherited from my mother is
to go pick garden leaf to decorate the meal.
i am glad this is one thing she tought me.

iced tea

i can't live without having iced tea during the summer.  i
seem to be drinking something cold all the time during the
summer, something hot all day long during the fall
and winter.  whether hot or cold, fresh made tea
always have refreshing effect.
jasmine tea and earl grey
were my favorites to make iced tea this summer
soon, i will enjoy hot tea more often.

imperfect summer

lucky enough.  from the small tomato sprouts my neighbor gave me
months ago, i was able to harvest 3 small tomatoes.  only three!
but i enjoyed wathcing them grow closely.  with all these
three, non of them were perfect but it's all right.
this morning, i cut one of them and put it in my mouth.
it was absolutely "taste of summer"
some of you might be tired of seeing my cardiospermum
collection but i am found of thehm each year when i
harvest.   as a matter of fact, cardiospermum,
morning glory, and bitter melon, all three are kind of
symbol of japanese summer.   many people admire them
in their own yard these days to promote natural
cooling effect rather than using airconditioner.
i am not sure how much it will help to reduce the use
of airconditioner during so humid and sizzling
time of the year here.
but it's nice to see the green curtain and
at least pretend little cooling effect.
i kind of the like the imperfection

fresh harvest

this year, my garden didn't produce much veges as i wished
for, i think they lucked good amount of nutrients to grow
properly.  but, by doing a planter gardening, having few harvest
is good enough and i am happy.
at least, i learn each year for more proper way of growing things,
life is always in a learning process.

i will use the tomato for salad for my lunch.
will sautee the bitter melon with soysause and sugar,
may add some bacons!

what's your favorite kind of bread?

the other day, i watched this movie
lots of my favorite things are packed in this film,
bread making, beautiful landscape, cafe in the middle of nowhere,
making and enjoying hot drink, cooking for others...etc
while watching the movie with my nephew,
he and i shared the same feeling of
"wanting to share"the bread with each other.
at that time, although, i didn't have the kind of bread
we wanted as we saw in the movie, there were few of
sweet kinds in my kitchen basket.  we decide to share
that one while the story progressed to the heart of it.
then, after while, i found this tuscan type of bread
and brought half of it home.  've always loved this
simple kind and indulge myself with some butter.
next time, i will have to get the whole and share
with my little friend.
chocolate mint icecream is my
current favorite too.
what's your favoite kind of bread?
